Whether this is going to affect Travel to Egypt or not is yet to be seen. But nothing negative helps, and Destination Management Companies & Promoters (owners of this magazine included) will have to find clever answers to questions like "is it safe?" ... that, and so much more they have to answer to; daily road accidents, environmental rape, illiterate hosts, and the general decay of services all-around, not to mention sexual harassment and beggars-turned-con-artists.

This article is directly addressed to authorities and those who run the country – otherwise also to those who care. It is a plea for action and a wakeup call, though now it seems the chimes are ringing to a man who'll never wake; in a coma, or a corpse.  I actually meant to entitle it 'Sexual Harassment – the plague', but this is a Socio-Documentary publication trying to maintain a conservative façade, and trying hard to stay away from politics, religion, and four-lettered words like sex.

The original name for this section was CRITIQUE - in bold and scary capital letters – and it was meant for me, personally, to present Professional Criticism about the industry at large. I'm a veteran hotelier and a travel agent for almost 40 years of life so I guess I'm qualified.  

I would use my lifelong training to dig out the good, the bad and the ugly during a stay in a hotel, a meal at a restaurant, a river cruise, a guided tour experience in a long-haul bus drive, an overnight on a train or a flight from here to there. That was the plan. The plan was also to invite other veterans of the trade to write or express opinion; and all those plans remain and will be carried out, yet the name change came for reasons.
